Friesen has more than 17 years of executive leadership experience in various health care ventures, including serving as president of a major surgery center management company and CFO of its corporate parent. Prior to joining Nueterra Healthcare, he served as CFO for a large national managed care organization with membership in excess of 350,000 and annual revenues of over $600 million. Additionally, as former president and CEO of a $100 million dollar provider-sponsored health care organization, Friesen was responsible for long-range strategic planning and overall direction of the organization.
Friesen is a graduate of Friends University with a double major in accounting and business administration. Upon graduation Friesen joined the international accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick. In addition to his undergraduate degree, Friesen is a graduate of the Philip Crosby Quality College for Total Quality Management and holds certificates in Process Improvement, Problem Solving and Team Building Techniques.
