Rothman Specialty Hospital, a specialty surgical hospital, is now open in Bensalem to provide joint replacement surgery, orthopaedic surgery, pain management and spine surgery. The hospital also offers sports medicine, foot and ankle, shoulder and elbow and hand and wrist procedures. The facility features six operating rooms, 24 patient beds, lab services and imaging capabilities.
The hospital partners with the Rothman Institute, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Holy Redeemer Health System and Nueterra Healthcare, a management company based in Leawood, Kan., to provide comprehensive orthopaedic and spine procedures to the residents of Philadelphia and South New Jersey.
Rothman Specialty Hospital recently earned accreditation from The Joint Commission by demonstrating compliance with the Commission's national standards for health care quality and patient safety in hospitals. The accreditation award recognizes Rothman Specialty Hospital's dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission's high standards.
The Joint Commission's hospital standards address important functions relating to the care of patients and the management of a hospital organization. The standards are developed in consultation with health care experts, providers, measurement experts, and patients.
"Our goal is to work collaboratively with the Rothman Institute to develop a hospital that allows physicians to focus first and foremost on caring for their patients," said Mark Sechrist, hospital chief executive officer, "When a patient and family walk in the front door of the hospital, they will immediately notice the difference compared to a typical hospital. Our commitment to quality and patient satisfaction is further demonstrated by our recent accreditation by the Joint Commission."
