About nine months after construction began, more than 75 people gathered at the site of Methodist McKinney Hospital located at northeast corner of Eldorado Parkway and Stonebridge Drive to commemorate the topping off of Collin County newest hospital. The final steel beam was put into place marking the completion of vertical construction.
Nueterra Real Estate, the real estate developer, has been preparing the site for construction since October 2008, following approval of the planning and zoning permit.
The event included comments from Dr. Vuhdi Slabisak, chairman of the hospital operations board; Dr. Ann Snyder, chairman of the hospital real estate board; Leslie Barden, senior vice president of planning and marketing for Methodist Health System; and Dr. Stephen L. Mansfield, president and CEO of Methodist Health System.
Barden announced to the crowd that the project is "on time and on budget."
"We plan to complete construction of the hospital by end of 2009,with a projected opening in February 2010," Barden said.
Mansfield shared a vision of the ongoing healthy growth as Methodist expands to serve more patients in more communities across North Texas.
In addition to completing vertical construction of the hospital, the hospital real estate board recently finalized a deal with Kessinger/Hunter, a Kansas City-based commercial real estate company, to develop the first medical office building at the site.
The medical office building will be built adjacent to the hospital and will provide office space for various health and wellness providers.
The 65,000-square-foot Methodist McKinney Hospital will allow area physicians to expand medical services available to residents of Collin County and surrounding areas, providing high-quality, patient-focused medical care.
